AI advisory and implementation for owner-led accountancy practices.
Owner-led practices do not have the headcount to absorb another platform rollout or another quarterly fire drill. Werkbench builds the AI system on top of the books, the inbox, and the compliance drawer you already operate — scoped per review season, cut over alongside the team, and measured against the hours that come back to the partners. Twenty-five years of systems and process work, applied to one practice, end to end.

Where the pain concentrates
The operational pain points we hear from owner-led practices.
- 01
Review-season bottlenecks
Workbook close, partner review sign-off, and the year-end hand-off all run on the same calendar. When the team is small and the client list is steady, those windows compress against each other — and the same Excel workbook gets emailed back and forth between the manager, the reviewer, and the partner.
- 02
Client onboarding friction
Engagement letters, KYC and AML data capture, and the recurring questionnaire chasing each new client fills the first weeks of the relationship. Most of the steps are the same every time — they are just spread across inboxes, signed PDFs, and a checklist that lives on a partner desk.
- 03
Advisory delivery time
Cash-flow forecasting, the monthly MI pack, and the ad-hoc what-if modelling for clients all want the same inputs from the same books. Building each one by hand eats the hours that would otherwise go into the advisory conversation — the part the client is paying for.
- 04
Internal data movement
Numbers live in Xero, QuickBooks, Sage, IRIS, a partner inbox, and a shared drive, and they are reconciled by a person each month. The reconciliation is repetitive, it is not judgement work, and it tends to land on whoever is junior enough to still be doing it.
- 05
Compliance and ethics overhead
PII handling, file review evidence, and CPD records all want to be kept in writing — but the writing usually happens after the fact. A monitoring system that captures the review trail at the time of the work removes the quarterly scramble for proof.
